What's the process and how much does it cost?

On average, the entire bankruptcy process takes about 3-4 months from start to finish. You can expect to appear before the bankruptcy trustee within 30 days or so after you file your petition. This is not a court hearing, but a meeting run by your bankruptcy trustee. The trustee will ask you questions about your petition and finances. Creditors may, but often don’t, appear and ask questions. Upon conclusion of this meeting you can expect to have your bankruptcy finalized within several weeks. Chapter 13 filers will need to attend a separate hearing known as a confirmation hearing.

The filing fee to file chapter 7 is $335 and for chapter 13 it's $310. This fee may be waived depending on your income. You may also enter into a payment plan directly with the court. We can assist you with applying for free court cost or any payment plan. The price to prepare your bankruptcy petition is $299. Our turnaround time is 24-48 hours. We also offer same day service for emergency petitions. If you live within the Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach area we can file your case at the courthouse for you for a small fee of $50.
